The ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State yesterday lost some of its members in the House of Representatives to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).Among those received into the PDP at its Legacy House in Abuja were Uche Ekwunife, Afam Ogene, Cyril Egwuatu, and Chris Azubugu. Hon. Charles Odedo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) also joined the PDP. Former member of House of Representatives and APGA chieftain, Chuma Nzeribe also returned to PDP.Three members of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hons. John Olibiye, Idu Emeka and Emeka Anaho of APGA, Accord Party and Labour Party, respectively also declared for PDP.Chairman of the state chapter of the PDP, Ken Emeakayi, who presented the new members to National Chairman, Adamu Mu’azu, assured that Anambra electorate would vote massively for the party in the forthcoming general elections.“In the coming elections, Anambra will give PDP 90 per cent of the votes. We shall win the elections, to show appreciation for the sleepless nights you have been having to build the party.”In his remarks, Alhaji Mu’azu assured the defectors of a level-playing field as he noted that the PDP was the most transparent and democratic party in the country.“I am delighted that prodigals sons of PDP are coming back home. For those not privileged to be in PDP but are coming back, we assure you that we shall treat you like old members. For those of you interested in seeking elective offices, feel free to buy nomination forms. Every aspirant will be treated equally,” he said.Hon. Ekwunife who spoke on behalf of the new members premised their decision to return to the PDP to the transparent leadership.“We started our career in PDP, now we are back. Something brought us back: it is your transparency,” Ekwunife said.
